its not even as if the alternatives were obviously better. Its so f***ing clear cut its laughable

No, it doesn't. His reputation doesn't mean anything.

He's German and we played a German side. Big whoop. Doesn't mean he should have played.

Your point would be valid IF the alternatives were much better than him.

And they're not.

You're still not explaining why him being German and having loads of caps meant that starting him was 'no brainer'.

If its 50/50 between a german international with extensive Bundesliga experience, and another player, against German oppo, you pick the Kraut.

He would have been a better attacking option anyway, regardless of nationally.

Wenger would also have known that Poldi not featuring in that match would probably be seen as a massive 'up yours' by the player. And he benched him anyway.

Terrible decision. Two places in that team Poldi could have had, and he didn't feature at all.

 :rofll:

honestly mate do you think before you post this? Podolski didnt start because he's one of our worst offensive players and he hides in big games. Who cares if he's german or how many caps against moldova and san marino he has.

Anyway ignoring all of that i felt like as soon as we lost gibbs the game was over. Monreal really is a complete calamity one of the worst defenders in our team. Against decent opposition he's clueless.
