IMO, the best way to shut a game out in this scenario was take Rosicky off for Jenksinon. Sagna Lb Jenk Rb, Flamini and Arteta sit deep and we keep the ball. Then you have Theo and Giroud who can attack if we get the chance. Obviously you disagree but oh well.

Agree with this. These changes give us good defensive solidity even if we can't retain the ball and Newcastle rain destruction on us but they also allow us to pose a threat. Posing a threat means we might nick another on the counter when one of their attacks breaks down and can even give them something to think about - in the back of their defender's minds "Oh shit, I better watch out of for Walcott behind me if they break."
All attacking outlets cut off = carefree attack for Newcastle.
Exactly. Brining your keeper up for a corner should be a massive risk, not something with absolutely no negative repercussions.
