god help us if we ever have to play a game behind closed doors
our performance should be the same weather there is 120000 or 1 man and his dog
the incentive is in the shirt you are wearing

Agreed. Would've been perfect if we had a player who could act as some sort of secondary striking outlet as a form support for Giroud, but who played on the wing so we could switch to 451 in defence.

Podolski?

This made me laugh way harder than it should :rofll:

13th of May 2012 Arsenal beat West Brom 3-2 to finish 3rd ahead of Newcastle. Gooney is still yet to leave the forum...

Cause ?
He played at this position for years alongside Novakovic for Köln and Klose for Germany and he was at least very good overall.

Majority of his goals are solo or from an accurate through ball so yeah he probably would.

I'd say he'd have more as we'd have someone who could control the ball in the final third and wouldn't be the grim reaper of counter attacks

Well that was ugly. Better performance on Saturday or we'll get destroyed.

Would much rather take this thrashing than lose to City, Hopefully, the boys know what's on stake.

Giroud has assisted 5 of those 15 and his runs have created space through the middle for Ramsey to drive into. His hold up play is what allows the midfielders to push up.

People on here only appreciate strikers who score goals, yes that's their main job but their contribution to the rest of the team shouldn't be overlooked.

Today's loss has basically undone all our good work against Dortmund in Germany. There is a huge gap between finishing first and second when you consider the draw. Even a point from today would have seen us face Leverkusen, Galatasaray, Olympiakos, Schalke, Zenit or Milan. We'd be comfortable favourites against any of them. Because of our loss, we face either Barca, Real, PSG, Bayern or Atleti. All but one of those opponents are far beyond us IMO. We didn't even really rest anyone ffs.

I think the point is that he'd rather us lose then instead of losing in the league. i agree with that because we ineviably will have losses, as long as they're outside the league programme then that is the best place for them to happen.

yeah because strikers who score goals dont assist or dont attract defenders away from their team mates. Reading some of this bull you would think Giroud is this assist machine :rofll: Its all excuses for him not being good enough.

You genuinely are the biggest moron on this forum. You moan all last season about how Ramsey was talentless, and this summer how you GUARANTEED we wouldn't sign any big players. You even bet 2 seasons ago Newcastle would finish ahead of us! Were'nt you supposed to leave the forum?

Strikers who score goals don't assist or attract defenders away from their team mates? Jesus you obviously don't want football that much. All the best strikers in the world give assists and create space for their team mates it's part of being a complete striker.
