Mike Dean wrote:Our lack of of quality in the final third showed on a number of plays. We controlled the ball in the midfield but we dont have enough to show for it.
We need to score at least one more. Suarez and Sturridge had some space but didnt make the most of it. If we keep giving them some of those spaces, they will eventually capitalize on it.
I know its not in his nature but Ozil really needs to force the issue and leave his mark on games like these. He is just going with the flow and that is not good enough for a quality player like him. Unfortunately, having followed him at RM, I have come to expect this from him.

Podolski? Wenger never plays him as a centre forward. Walcott? See Podolski.
Walcott rarely plays up front.
And I ask those who dont seem to think we need another striker...... why dont you want us to be the best we can be and have biggest and best squad possible?
I completely agree!
I am one of Giroud's biggest fans but would love for us to sign a world class striker in January. My argument is that he's still doing a great job this season and deserves a hell of a lot more credit than he's getting, but I still want another striker.
To be honest, I don't think there are any fans on here who wouldn't want a new striker in January.

I wouldn't say best in Europe. We'd be the best in the league though if we had Aguero, especially with the form he's in.
We are the best in the league.
By 5 points.
I mean properly the best in the league, not there because Chelsea and Citeh keep making errors.

Look, when it comes to finishing goal mouth chances he's about as good as we've ever had, the problem is since the 90's Arsenal since Ian Wright have had strikers who are world class (Bergkamp, Anelka, Henry, Reyes, Adebayor, RVP) so you can see why Giroud is a little bit shy of what we're used to.
As much as I praise his inbox presence, outside the box he's fkin horrible, I counted he got robbed at least 4-5 times today, that is not good enough for an Arsenal no1 choice striker.
However until Wenger buy's an alternative I'll support Giroud, he's all we've got.
This seems neutral. I agree. We have to stick to Giroud until we get another striker in January. Unless Podolski plays CF and starts firing, we'd need another world class striker. Giroud was hopeless outside the box and if van Persie had the two chances Giroud got, he'd have scored both. That's the type we need to become a force in Europe.
