Works though doesn't it. The top teams have been doing it against us for ages

Yep, because our naivete drops us right into the trap time and time again.

Having said that it's not why we lost tonight.

You do realise we are missing:

Walcott
arteta
podolski
flamini
gnabry
Ox

Chelsea played with full reserves today, they had no one missing.

Like I already said: look at those players, they're ALL midfielders. We have a plethora of midfield talent but that's about it, look anywhere else and we're sorely lacking.

I wouldn't call Podolski a midfielder.
Theo and Pod would've given us more potency in attack which is exactly what we lacked today.
I thought Bendtner would work harder than he did and offer more, but he looked a bit timid and lacking in confidence.
As someone already said, we have too many injuries to compete on four fronts at the moment.
Chelcunts bring on Ba and Ramires and we bring on Park. Says it all really....

I expected it...that's what worries me.

Our only average player in defense is Jenkinson.

Everyone else first team players/ Internationals.

I agree with that. Monreal is good, so is Vermaelen imo but there's no reliable backup defenders in rest of squad. A good backup RB who can develop and take over Sagna and 1 promising youngster should fix the problem.

We don't need to talk strikers.

We were practically full strength when Ozil & Giroud came on. That's not strength in depth lol

At most I'd buy Podolski being a Forward but definitely NOT a Striker.

Walcott is an AM. He keeps harping on about being a Striker...he's not.

It was the striking position that screwed us today IMO. The midfield lacked a suitable outlet with Bendtner busy picking his nose by the corner flag and as such they got overrun.

So ultimately we're completely lacking a Striker if Giroud gets run over by a bus. I really, really hope we buy in January because if not we might as well just leave that spot on the pitch blank haha.

Bendtner is just not good enough, and doesn't suit our game.

We also brought on Ozil and Giroud...

He's not a Striker nor a Forward. He's also not really a Winger. That doesn't leave alot of options.

Put Sagna's defending ability on Jenkinson than we have ourselves a top top right back.

Apart from the fact he can't dribble or cross or pass.

Being an international doesn't make you talented. Just because you play for Uzbekistan doesn't mean you're a good player.
