Yep, Yorkie kept questioning me saying Wilshere should play. Obviously thought it was just biased, which there will always be a little bit, but Henderson is a very boring player who offers little whereas Wilshere drives the team forward and links the mid to attack. Yes he needs someone to sit next to him and guard him but Gerrard or Hendo could've done that, you don't need both.

Maybe vs Italy all 3 would've been good to control the midfield area but otherwise not really.

Playing 2 DMs just puts us on the back foot right from the start.

It's time we stopped playing so negatively and took the game to the opposition.

It's the slimmest of margins that decide these tournaments and unfortunately for us we've been edged out by Italy and lost out to a Uruguay striker with the best striker in the world. Normally we can pinpoint where things went wrong but it's harder this time around - Roy went with the younger, exciting players and moved from 4-4-2 to a fluid 4-3-3. There's not much you can do about an individual mistake like Gerrard's and if he doesn't do that we get a point and go into the Costa Rica game knowing that if we win we'll probably go through.

The biggest issue is the defence but we just don't have many options there at the moment. Beyond Jagielka and Cahill we basically have little else. Curtis Davies and Steven Caulker are probably the next in line and that doesn't really inspire confidence.

Why did Luke Shaw go? Could of and should of took Cashley, even if he wasn't gonna start, just for dressing room/tournament experience.

Henderson looked so out of position and was doing a lot of pointless running in the first game? But that apparently warrants him a starting place in the second game. We could of done with Wilshere or even Lampard.

Lampard and Gerrard look terrible together IMO

This has been the story since they first broke onto the scene. The best thing about Lamps retiring from international football is that we no longer have to see manager after manager insist on playing them together.

the issue want henderson imo the main issue was rooney.

He occupied over players spaces, imposed himself on their role and refused to provide even a single remotely creative pass. Still dont undertsand the hype around the guy he's decent but not exceptional as people make out.

Glad we didnt sign him last summer it would have been a disaster seeing him pop up in ramseys and ozils position all season.
