I've seen no one cry. What was done was way beyond expectations.

The team will be greeted back like the great heroes they are.

Been great having your posts on GW to keep us updated on CR news during the WC!

Hopefully as Joel Campbell becomes the next Thierry Henry you'll become a GW legend!!!

I know it has happened before. I just can't remember where.

Thanks, mate. I have been a gooner for a long time, long before Joel became one. So, I'm here to stay :arse flag.gif: Campbell or no Campbell.

We had a guy here at Saprissa (the club that formed Joel and Navas), Jose Francisco Porras. He did the opposite of sh*t talking. He shaked each takers hand, wished them the best, and he'd even tell them "please shoot it to my right/left".

Never lost a shoot out, got Saprissa to CONCACAF Champion and went on to start in the 06 WC . Outstanding keeper.

costa rica has been amazing. was really fun team to watch. they really played as a team and showed what you can achieve if you really want to be a team (not like argentina or portugal just to mention two).

also love how van gaal's team had to fight to win this one. von gaal really thinks he's a football-genius. also all the hype about changing keeper...c'mon. krul is just a better penalty stopper than the other keeper so yes, makes sense to change the keeper for the penalties but that has nothing to do with "genius-van-gaal" as most papers call it.

Absolutely gutted, those pens from Costa were so poor compared to last time. I think Krul's height made them decide to go low but it didn't work. Fair play to the dutch their pens were decent, let's just hope they knock Argentina out.

Tbh, Netherlands have really rode their reputation after the 5-1 all the way to the semis. Not that it's wrong but they got past Mejico due to the ref and beat CR on penalties. All the teams haven't been at their best but from now on, the team that keeps its nerves the most will win it. van Gaal is a tactical master so will have a lot to say but as long as Messi isn't as poor as he was against Belgium, Argentina should be okay. Still tough as heck.
