Yeah, I have recently read a few Wilbur Smith books, as I started reading his stories in the early 80’s and forgotten much about them. If anyone enjoys great adventure stories, he wrote River God, set in ancient Egyptian times about creating and hiding a Pharoh’s tomb and The Seventh Scroll about a recent search for the tomb.....basically an amazing treasure hunt. Great books.

I was standing in a check in queue at the airport holding the book and the woman behind me asked how I was getting on with it. I said I was struggling and she laughed and said it was the hardest book to get through and she hasn’t bothered with the follow up.

Persevere with it, it gets better, I read them all Wolf Hall (2009), Bring up the Bodies (2012) and The Mirror and the Light (3 March, 2020) I am now reading the Shannara Series for the second time, brilliant series once you get into it.
