I'm not Jamaican... not even remotely close. But f***ing A I love me some Appletons.

So I've never heard of this Jessie J, had a look on youtube... and you mean to tell me people over in England listen to that shit? Do It Like A Dude??? Seriously? What. The. f**k. That has to be one of the top 10 worst excuses for a song I've ever heard in my life.
This space used to be more fun...

Zedie, who's Rick Ross :hiding: someone I should know about?

Lootpack's first album is a must have! Soundpieces: Da Antidote! Surprising how an album made this side of the year 2000 can sound like such an old skool classic.

And Madlib... best producer since Pete Rock? :dontknow: Quite possibly. But Kankick would give him a run for his money. This is why I'm not so fussed about whether or not there will be a return of some kind of golden era. There will always be amazing artists out there, and with the internet they don't all need to sell out to get recognition. Plus I like the fact that I can walk up to Lewis Parker or Jehst after watching them perform, have a chat, put the world of hiphop to rights, give a little nudge then be on my way. I got a mate who spent a good couple of hours smoking with Madlib after seeing him at the Jazz Café... doubt that would have happened if his album got to number one on the 'sell-out bitches' chart!

So as I am not Jamaican I deserve a smack in my face for using the word mandem?

Really?

Mandem is actually derived from a Latin word

I probably should have worded it better.

You are not a teenager, i am guessing you grew up with Jamaican culture as it was a big part of London way back when.

I have no problem with older black guys using it, what annoys me is the youth of my age or younger who coin this term in some sort of insult, or silly white bitches who throw it around like they were born in the ghetto, do me a favour.

Anyone who came up to me using mandem in any sort of derogatory form, trying to start, there would be no hesitation, if me and you were grinding some green finest and you said it i wouldn't have any problem with that, thats what i meant.

White people using it full stop is a no no.

My favourite track off the bluenote album mate!!!

The whole album is immense. I think this was the first video I ever posted in the "what are you listening to" thread.

Do you have the Sound Direction: Funky Way of Life album? Another Madlib masterpiece!

I dont, i havent caught up with new releases for ages. Ill have to look out for that one. Im still searching for Oh No'sdebut album. My mate had it ages ago but i lost touch with him and i cant seem to find it anywhere.

Like i said earlier, the Stonesthrow stable are one of the most talented bunch of guys ive ever had the pleasure of hearing.

Christ, they deserve their own thread!
