The Gooner Ramble: Match Report

Postby Zedie » Wed Jan 01, 2014 10:37 pm

Hello guys,

Some of you may be aware that I've been doing match reports for The Gooner Ramble in recent weeks, so I thought I'd post a link to my articles if you would like a read.

Its my first time doing this, so if you have any thoughts about my ramblings, don't be shy! It'll only help me become a better writer.....

Anyway, have a butchers at the link below, there are a few other reports stacked up already, including the latest one for Arsenal v Cardiff.

Cheers!

Cheers mate. Not sure if they are too long, they usually end up at 1500 words (pretty easy to do, much harder to edit down!).

I've been really impressed with them so far Zedie. You get them out in good time as well which is no easy feat.

Cheers mate! I admit, sometimes it makes life really hard just watching the game as a fan, instead of scribbling down reference points or specific players actions.

Getting used to It though. Sometimes, I just want to post in the matchday thread during or afterwards but no chance.

I can imagine. You're doing a good job.

One piece of advice, though - when posting it to the site, I'd recommened prefacing your title with "Match Report:", so anyone reading can differentiate between a match report and a feature piece.

Spur’s 2nd and ultimately only other decent chance came in the 56th minute, when a ball into Adebayor, who did the hard part in bringing the ball down with his back to goal. The best he could do was slip while turning, looping a tame back pass into the arms of Fabianski.

Minor error: Spur’s should be Spurs’.

Then came the moment of the match by far, when the world watched a mere mortal become a God to the Arsenal faithful. Walcott was receiving a lot of abuse while on the deck and by the time the stretcher had come to get him, he had probably had enough. He grinned through the pain and he held up 2 fingers and a fist to politely remind the mouth breathers what the score was. Upon reaching the Arsenal faithful, he was showered with scarfs, with his name ringing out. I’ll be starting up a petition to have that moment cast in bronze and put outside the stadium, along with the other Arsenal greats, in the coming days.

:hail: perfectly described, brings back one or two flashbacks!

The shadow intensifies.

:sneaky2:

Another solid report dude!
