well done lads
very interesting
love baba o riley
an absolute staple in who live shows
1 of my 1st big concerts was a who gig
the concerts for kampuchea xmas 79
a week of fantastic gigs
it was rumoured that the beatles would reform for said gigs but it never materialised
i went thanks to my mums partner at the time being good friends with jimmy callaghan who was head of security
so ended up going with him my mum and a guy named vic a massive arsenal and who fan who took me to my 1st away game outside of london luton away 1974 and who i ended up working in the print with as well
vic is battling bowel cancer at the moment god love him
he had seen them perform baba at the rainbow in 71
he became my concert going buddy
he was the 1st [normal person] i ever saw smoke a jazz fag at that very gig
an eye opener for a wet behind the ears 16 year old out with his mum
the pretenders and the specials were on the same bill
chrissie hynde was a lovely sight from my fortunate front row standing position
my 1st trip to the hammersmith odeon that was to become a 2nd home
even as recently as july the who at wembley arena were still performing baba
i love it as a theme but may i take the liberty of a suggestion?
would a different opening song be possible every week
reflecting musical taste and or topicality of things over the arsenal
may i suggest pink floyds money reflecting the tight wads over the arsenal finally stopping behaving like we are some arse out the trousers poor club
i look further to further episodes
you scrub up well on radio
