Probably cost nothing. Looks like it was taken directly from an area 51 UFO salvage hanger.

Rolling blackouts in Zenith's area due to the power drain on the grid when he fires it up.

He uses it to run the tech infrastructure for a small nation.

It's power level is said to be over 9000.

Around £750

Saved roughly £250 by ordering each component individually and by building the rig myself

God bless the old MX518.
I would still be running mine had it not craped out on me 2 years ago. Mourning period since. Logitech sent me a new G700 for replacement and it's cool and all, but the MX518 was probably the best mouse I have ever held in my claws.
You also get a big thumbs up for the PSU, I love modular PSUs and the SSD (I'd die without mine).

Great rig!

The MX518 is a legendary mouse, it's a real shame Logitech stopped producing them years ago. Same for the G5, G400 and G500 and G700 which were very respectable successors. New/Boxed G5's and G700's are being sold for well over €130 on ebay nowadays to give you an idea of how highly regarded they are... Last week the MX's right mouse click died, after 7 years of service, so i'm thinking about getting a G402.

Regarding the SSD, it's my first rig that contains one and it really is a must-have. Significantly faster than your average HDD; software runs very smoothly and your machine boots in no-time.

I got my MX sometime in 2006, can't remember the exact time, but still, it was in good service for at least 6 years. Then the right click switch busted (first symptom was constant double clicking) and in a matter of weeks everything broke down - scroll, left click, right click weren't even working anymore.
And here I have to say that I absolutely LOVE Logitech, because I spoke with their support team and they instantly shipped me a new mouse - the G700, which I have traded in for a new G700s just recently.

But as I said, it's great, but it's not a MX518 :(

Oh the horror.

I never build a rig without putting a SSD into it. When I saw the difference in OS booting between a SSD and a HDD that was the breaking point.

Nice build

An SSD is pretty much essential these days, no reason not to have one. They're affordable now and the difference is night and day. Even for a non enthusiast. Should be the first thing any one upgrades

R9 290 is a good card will be more than enough for what you want but looking at GTX 780 you could have got more for less money, unless there is a specific reasons you wanted a 290?

I'm thinking of getting a new gaming rig might use this site for a custom build

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/

Has anyone had any experiences with them? Price wise very similar to building your own PC.

Do you play on that monitor? Seems odd having such a computer with a small screen.
