A Dutch/Turkish Gooner appears

Postby #ST » Sat Oct 11, 2014 11:20 am

Hello fellow Gooners!

I'm 24 years old and been a Gooner for about 5 years now.
Both my parents are Turkish and I myself was born and raised in the Netherlands, hence the Dutch and Turkish roots.

I had to discover Arsenal all on my own so that's why it took so long :arsenal3:

To be honest I wasn't very interested in football until I was off age. My dad tried to shove it in my face since I was 5 (he is an Ajax and Fenerbahce fan) and the way my brains function is that when you force me to do something, I do the opposite.

Anyway, as I started to like football more and more, I was drawn to the Premier League, by far the most entertaining league in the world. After a year of just being neutral and enjoying all the big clubs, I realised I was getting more and more excited about Arsenal. More so than any other club. I still remember the game that really sealed the deal: April 2009: Liverpool 4 - 4 Arsenal (or should I say Arshavin :Peace: )

Anyway each year that passed the Gooner virus in me just kept growing.

I am proud to say I may not have been a Gooner since birth, but I will until the day I die.

This was a bit longer than planned, Sorry for that!
