The NASL had just collapsed when I was on my way to college (ya, I'm that old), so I surrendered my soccer dream for an engineering degree. That and I hadn't given it enough effort to that point, too distracted by other things. Passed up a few offers because the schools didn't have an electronics program.

So I just played Club soccer at Carbondale. Plenty fun, great exposure to international players, probably got better doing that than going to school with a coach. Was quite the player on the indoor leagues here in St. Louis for years, then tore the ACL.

I loved playing indoor soccer. By the way, I heard the other day that were getting the St. Louis Ambush back. I always had a good time going to those games...
