Great result, not sure how Liverpool didn't get more cards but they're Liverpool so what you going to do, no question we were played off the park but the fight that the lads put in was epic, in a fairly meaningless game to give so much after such a tough loss just a few days ago was very good to see, can't remember the last time all sixteen put in such a full shift - sure Liverpool 24 shots v 3 and sure 69% possession for them ... but 2-1 to us is all that matters ... BRILLIANT

Happy birthday Ach. Fantastic result, finally we got the luck that they didn't, except for the red card which let's face it was never going to be given to those lovable. cheerful, cheeky chappies. Some word that begins with 'c' anyway. Read the thread and watched MOTD and it all tallies with a smash and grab but prefer to look at it as acknowledging the opposition's strengths and capitalising on their errors with clinical finishing. Have to say, the thread's discussion of Reiss Nelson reminds me so much of the Gerry Edwards ('e couldn't score in a fckin broffel!') segment in 'ID'.
Good old Arsenal, we're proud to say that name

Was out last night and was not even expecting a draw or a goal so this is great.

But, no mention in here seemingly of that tackle by Trent on Saka. That was a clear and obvious red surely?

To sum up Mikel's remarks:

If you're going to win against an opponent who are better than you, you need to defend well, take your chances when they come, and get a bit of luck.

Unfortunately, the bias in football runs deeper than just the cheats at PGMOL and those reviewing VAR decisions.

The commentator's reaction to Mane's kick out on Holding was to blame Holding for being upset about it. Right there in front of them on video - a kick out from the ground in anger that made contact with Holding and apparently it was Holding's fault.

With the amount of bias in football, I don't know how anyone expected technology to do anything other than make it worse.

I think it's obviously a good win for us, Liverpool clearly aren't as focussed since they won the title, Van Dijk has made more errors in a couple games than he has since he arrived at Liverpool but they still dominated, wasn't their night.

Couple errors but Lacazette having a good run and scoring again, his confidence seems to be growing, no Mustafi which is a positve Holding was a million times better, Martinez got away with his poor kick early on but has been generally good since he came in, good to see Torreira in as well, for me he should play most games.

All in all good and good to see Nelson score too.

He was probably resting the likes of Mustafi for the FA Cup, so picking Holding wasn't a choice, he doesn't seem to fancy him so I expect he'll be dropped. I'm not saying he's top notch but Holding is the best CB, he at least does a half decent job of defending.

Likewise Torreira, he doesn't fancy him either, but he makes us more solid, would pick him over Xhaka every day of the week. We rode our luck big time, it was a combination of Liverpool having won the title and not being as focussed as they were (understandable), lady luck and some of the players he was forced to bring back helping to make us more solid. Tierney is very good too, the only issue with him is that he's injury prone, but again he can defend.

Liverpool had 70% possessions, 24 shots to our 3 and 13 corners to our 2 which says a lot about which team was the offensive team and which one was defensive.

Good win definitely and I guess a confidence boost, but it's not really indicative of where we are, the defeat by Spurs in the NLD was more so because even though it was pretty meaningless in terms of achieving something, it was a derby and thus a game you want to win.

Weekend will be interesting, I expect Arteta will drop Holding and Torreira for that.
