Is anyone else watching this side and scratching their head how mustafi and Xhaka have survived 3 managers... having been sh!t under all 3???
Mustafi’s ghost slide tackle in the box towards the end of the game

Arteta has improved some of the players attitudes for sure but I’ve got to question his team selection. Torreira not getting in ahead of Xhaka is criminal. Anyone not getting in ahead of mustafi is even worse! Also still can’t work out how none of the managers have come in and dropped bellerin. He is so poor. These changes seem sooooo obvious for me.

And guendouzi situation makes me nervous about arteta. He’s made an example of him - fair enough... but you don’t need to do this to arguably our most consistent performer whose attitude on the pitch is an example to all the senior players around him.

Still... to finish on a positive note at least he’s dropped the poison that is Ozil.

Totally spoilt my Sunday roast that did. Not even copious amounts of superb M&S lamb leg could cheer me up.

oh , the ref also f***ked us once again...

no free kick on foul on Pepe... leads to Laca yellow.

Winks should have been off... 2 clear shirt pulls from behind...to stop attacks

This is true - and it will take a long time to recover from his awful management of the club.
Longer now that we have Wenger MkII in charge.

Amen

To sell Guendouzi would be the stupidest of decisions. Even if leadership doesn’t like him they should at least recognise how much he’s bound to be worth in a few years

Not anymore, we're in this mess because Wenger is gone but the board are still here.

No one is forcing these idiots to keep Mustafi, Luiz and co .............. they did that.

The smarter manager won - two average sides both prone to defensive errors - Mourinho was happy to keep nine men behind the ball knowing he didn't need 60% possession to score goals, knowing that the inevitable mistakes would come even playing with just a front two. Arteta played an extra forward who touched the ball just 21 times in 90 minutes. Look at the goals sure all great finishes but Lacca's came from two horrendous bits of defending, Son's from two more horrendous bits of defending, and their winner from us using an under 6 foot player to mark a 6'6 defender .... Interesting to look at the two "star" strikers contributions Auba 21 and Kane 17 had by far the fewest touches of any starting player in the game, Auba managed 3 shots 1on target, 1 KP, 0 dribbles, 0 tackles, 0 defensive headers won, Kane managed 5 shots 4 on target, 4 KP's, 2 dribbles, 2 tackles and 3 defensive headers won, so whilst both had very little possession one was highly effective and one might as well have not bothered ... that in a nutshell is why we lose, too many players just not doing enough.

the 2nd goal was a good delivery and a good header... its not like he was wide open and Tierney wasnt RIGHT there with him...
the taller man won that one and the dleivery was good and he didnt head it directly at the GK.

if you looked atthe height of all the players on the pitch, we couldnt match them, Sanchez, Alderwereld and Kane are all 6'2...
we had Luiz and Auba....

If he were REALLy uncovered, thats another story... I mean, like Giroud header to break the ice in teh Eurpa final, Koz is right on him...but the dleivery is good and the player deleivers a fine header where his positioning and the balls placenet win out althougha dfender is right next to them...

It was a good cross and a good header but any defender will tell you that allowing a 6'3 centre back to rise almost unchallenged in the box is poor defending ... if you watch the corner as the ball is struck four Spurs players are already attacking the ball with at that moment seven Arsenal players between them and the goal, at least four of those defenders are back on their heels. The first Spurs player jumps under the ball at the front edge of the six yard box, he draws two defenders. The other three attacking players get an unblocked two yard run up and jump, the three defenders who are man marking them are all backpedalling and thus jumping from a near static position, whilst a fourth and fifth defender already in the six yard box are caught flat footed. The keeper could have made a decision to come for the cross as it arrives on the six yard line, but there should have been enough defenders in the way so no blame on him, once he stays back he has no chance with the header... when the ball arrives every Spurs player gets above the five defenders who jump on the six yard line, allowing that to happen is just poor defending, sure it's a good ball and a good header but neither attacking the ball nor blocking the run is piss poor defending ... do that every corner and we will be shipping goals for fun.

Seriously, dude. That line doesn't work anymore. And this is coming from a guy who wanted Wenger out as he was past his expiry date as a manager.

But it should tell you how shitty our recruitment has been that despite the significant roster turnover, the key performers or frequent starters this season are mostly Wenger signings with the exception of Leno. I'm talking about Auba, Xhaka, Saka, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Bellerin etc al. The club has done a piss poor job of recruitment despite spending more money in the 2 years compared to what Wenger spent.

We all knew defense needed to be sorted. What does the club do? Drop 72 million on Pepe the
Jury on whom is still out. We knew we needed a pit bull in the midfield, what does the club do? Extend Xhaka and make him captain later. They buy Torreira who can't get games over an on-loan Cebellos who has his own shortcomings. We needed a Bellerin replacement, what does the club do? Spend 5 mill to get a 28 yr old Soares on loan who doesn't play a single game in the first 6 months. We needed to get rid of the dross in Central defense, the club goes ahead and extends Luiz, Mari and Soares. We need a creative midfielder. What does the club do? Instead of finding a better player than Ozil, they decide their efforts are better spent on politicking to get him out of the club.
