Roma, Leverkusen, and Inter legit scare me. There's Benfica and Ajax too.

Arteta needs to prioritise this comp.

Imagine come end of season AFC win the EL and get into the CL, it would change our financial situation over night and deliver a trophy.

We're not in in it next year either in this table position so need to make the most of it this year.

We're not winning this. But reaching the semis would be exciting enough.

If we had Alexis Sanchez, I'd be more optimistic. As fans, however, this competition is a lot more intriguing than our Prem campaign.

I like how our fans ignore Alexis' contribution in winning our last two FA Cups. Not directing this at you. Nonetheless, he's for sure our most influential player of the Emirates Era.

Actually this team doesn't look much worse than the team who played against Newcastle, and it's 11 different players. Our squad depth doesn't look too bad these days.

I like that team. Sokratis will help being back in his homeland. Will need to rotate the squad since we still have a tough game vs Everton. Some kids will need gametime and its not the point yet where we can cross the teams over so he full priority is EL.

It is last year all over again where the Europa League will again define our season. The league has been a disaster already with the only glimmer of hope is somehow scraping a 5th place miracle.

The Europa is a bit of a lucky dip since if Inter are on it they should win it, is they are bothered. They bottled it hard vs Barca and Dortmund so its not impossible for us to beat them, they have a clear mentality issue in Europe. Apart from the the issues is more there are teams like:

Sevilla, United, Roma, Shakhtar, Wolves, Porto and Leverkusen.

We have to be at our very, very best to beat these teams, anything less than 96% and we are out. I'd take Roma though, no Zaniolo and they are a historically incompetent team in glamorous european games (Bar Barca's stupidness back back 2018). They even bottled it vs a McLaren lead Middlesbrough back in 2006.

Leverkusen don't scare me, I follow them quite closely due to Bailey, Diaby seems to have benched him which obviously annoys me but he's very good, truly lighting fast. Havertz has been very disappointing this season, maybe seems focused in the inevitable Bayern move and in general in quality they aren't better than us outright, just better organised in midfield.

What concerns me about Leverkusen is they used to be a naive high pressure, no defence team but in recent months they seem more solid at the back, a shock since Boaz is usually a shitshow defensively.
