Apparently his wife is about to give birth. Doesn't seem that important, can't they face time each other during it or something. Pffffffttt!! :snooty:

Imagine come end of season AFC win the EL and get into the CL, it would change our financial situation over night and deliver a trophy.

We're not in in it next year either in this table position so need to make the most of it this year.

We're not winning this. But reaching the semis would be exciting enough.

If we had Alexis Sanchez, I'd be more optimistic. As fans, however, this competition is a lot more intriguing than our Prem campaign.

I like how our fans ignore Alexis' contribution in winning our last two FA Cups. Not directing this at you. Nonetheless, he's for sure our most influential player of the Emirates Era.

i banged that drum all the time, but got beaten down by ozil football clubbers.... so sad that sanchez fell off a cliff once he left,,, burnt out....

Whoever he plays they need to perform their hearts out, winning this comp would change our season, losing this means next year we have nothing to do with Europe, not the CL or the Europa which is us sliding even further because unless we get top 4 next year it'll be even more subsequent years with no European football.

We win this and it springboards us back into the top tier comps, money influx and a trophy.

If we fail we're into obscurity.

We've only won there once in the last four visits, which was 3-0 in 2015. Unfortunately our hosts have only dropped two points at home all season in their league and only Bayern have won there in the CL. Spuds drew 2-2.

So....we've got our work cut out!

Context: If I recall correctly, on several occasions we had already progressed to the knock-out stages, or, at least, were under no real pressure to win and opted to rotate the squad by fielding a B team. Combine that with Olympiacos' extended history of being a sturdy home side and those results look a bit worse than they probably would have if there was more at stake.

Good enough to give us a game, it would be very disappointed of we didn't progress though.

A scoring draw wouldn't be bad, though expect to win this with the strikers we've.
Hope the improvement continues.

Not a bad line up with Mustafi playing RB(?).
Have three strikers up front.

No idea what's going on with AMN or Torriera. Torriera injured? Not confident with that line up. Xhaka, Guendouzi, Willock in midfield....Auba on the wing, Martinez playing on the right again....no Pepe....a little worried about the creativity.

MARTINELLI RW :BangHead:

Literally all of Martinelli's good performances have come from the left side. Or when he was up front.
