You mean George Graham type football does work in modern day football :dontknow:

Aye the ‘George graham’ back 5 with overlapping centre backs.

Football must be really simple in your mind
Watch the 90/91 season highlights and tell me Graham was about 4-4-2 and long balls. Limpar was pretty much a LWF ffs, his teams adapted.

I remember when andy gray's bootroom first started and graham had played merson 'in the hole behind the strikers' (I think vs palace) and he'd run riot. Gray was raving about Graham's switch in tactics.

But hey, founded in 1996 and all that

People knowing their history is very trendy these days man :)

So why did you talk about a tight back 4 and direct play in the other thread? Contradictions everywhere but yeah you keep painting some bullshit picture and relating it to wenger as always.

In case you’re interested, I don’t think early wengerball would work in 2020 either. Go figure.

Reason pool are so successful is because they play direct with pace, as did the invincibles and the GG side in 89 and all of teams defended as a team giving no space or time on the ball

Precisely, a pacey game really opens up the opposition as it doesn't give them time to get back, we play such slow football it's just ineffective because you then have 10 men to get through, we should have gone back to pacey football years ago (actually we should have never changed to that rubbish 5 yard passing football), can't believe we have yet another manager who hasn't worked out that's what we should do, we have plenty of pace in the team.

What’s that got to do with how Sheffield United play? You guys are making your own story now.
