Assuming Niles and ESR are injured:

Martinez
Bellerin* Mustafi Holding(c)* Tierney*
Xhaka Willock
Martinelli --- Ozil --- Nelson
Jules?

Subs: Leno, Luiz, Chambers, Ceballos, Saka, Pepe, Aubameyang

*Not sure if 100% yet. If not, use the cups and EL to get players returning back from injury back up to speed. Once they’re ready, start them in PL games and not these games.
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Should be going to this

Hopefully the big guns play.

But seeing as they played today, seems unlikely.

Bells and tierney for sure.

Martinez
Bellerin - Holding - Mustafi - Tierney
Willock - Ceballos
Özil
Pepe - Martinelli - Nelson

Subs: Leno - Niles - Mavropanos - Xhaka - Torreira - Saka - John-Jules

Pepe needs an easier game for his confidence. Ceballos could also use this game to regain his form.
Bellerin can play an hour this time.
Would like to see Mavropanos and John-Jules as well at some point.

You can't start Pepe in this game, I'd start Saka then bring Pepe on half time so he doesn't feel like he's been demoted.

Martinelli can def go up front and I'd like Torreiria to get a game at CDM along with Willock and Ozil.

Nelson needs to have a good game, getting a bit worried about him.

Yea Pepe had a poor game, but I still think he has a confidence issue right now. So yea, maybe don't start him, but also don't leave him out completely. You have to work thru these times. Every player goes through it. I'm hoping that is the issue of course. We'll see. Obviously he does well in training as Emery uses him for corners and free kicks, but that's gotta transition to the field sooner or later.

Communication is everything. Emery can still tell him, that he will still start him in the PL, but that he wants him to get used to the team in other competitions as well. He can take him off after 60 minutes so that he won't get exhausted.

I'd start Pepe because a goal from open play would help his confidence and I doubt he'd see it as a demotion. Auba, Xhaka, Torreira, Luiz and Kolasinac started the last EL game.

Hoping we rest Auba this time around though. Hoping Martinelli starts. Nelson also needs some minutes to find his form.

Or, and I don't know if this is common or not. But maybe Emery could ask him what he'd rather do. You know, say "hey I know your confidence is low, would it help you by sitting out for a bit or do you want to get right back in there"? Assuming Emery is wanting to start him this game of course.

I expect Ozil to start, but he usually fades by the 70 min mark. Saka should be subbed in at that point. He should start against BMouth so a full 90 in this game would be bad for his stamina.

Martinez
Bellerin Mustafi Holding(c) Tierney
AMN Torreria Willock
ESR Martinelli Nelson

We need a strong bench which must include Ceballos Auba, Pepe, Saka on the bench if things go wrong. I wouldn't mind Ceballos starting but i'd rather have him rested for Sunday because we need to be on the front foot vs Bournemouth and he should start!
