Along with, 3/4 of the squad, otherwise the manager won't matter, no one can win with our dross
Agreed.
Emery has been far from convincing, but the lack of balance and overall quality of our squad is glaring.
- Painfully average full backs
- No solid CB partnership
- Xhaka and Mustafi playing far more games than they should
- The lack of mobility and spatial awareness in midfield
- The lack of chemistry between Özil and Aubazette
- The lack of pace and individual skill in wide areas
There is just no solid base to build around. Attack, midfield and defense all have major issues and none of this will change until we make marquee signings in each of those areas.
Only a serious and immediate squad overhaul can save us now. The question is, does that overhaul include Emery?
I'm prepared to give him another season but if there are still no signs of improvement next season, we should look to part ways.
