The only positive is that it might have shown Emery that that midfield two should never be started again.

fwiw, i saw this as such a golden opp to take a step in the right direction. it was only aftre the debacle that i looked and noticed we still were in 4th by GD.

in no way did i mean " oh well. its ok, were still 4th."

Unfortunately a very familiar performance. We're doing an Arsenal.

Can this nonsense about doing an Arsenal stop
Today was the first time we have lost at home to a team in the lower half of the table since January 17
Since then palace have won at Chelsea and Liverpool
Last season man Utd lost to bottom of the table west brom and Chelsea lost 3-0 home to Bournemouth
This season crystal palace won 3-2 at man city

Still in a champions league place and funny enough there are 38 games in a season including Cardiff away won 3-2 mustafi scored man Utd 2-2 mustafi scored
We win as a squad we lose as a squad

What is pathetic is this white flag waving bollocks and the utter nonsense about how we are the only team who are letting teams catch up
On the 3rd Feb we were 10 points behind spurs( it's now1)
We were 3 points behind Chelsea ( who had a 4 goal better goal difference than us) now we are level ( 4 goals better)
We were a point behind man Utd who are now 2 points behind

First time we have lost at home after winning away in Europe since November 2009

I'm more pissed off that we can't afford to rotate our first 11 without some of our 2nd string clowns losing us games more than anything.

Today we really got to see who needs to be sold asap, they have rubber stamped their names in the book for me and leading the pack is Mustafi, disgraceful considering what the old regime paid for him.

Ramsey's injured, what if that happens to Laca or Torreia or Sokratis, our 2nd string don't even qualify as cover, they need to be sold.

We just don't play like a team .... it's all very well saying AOL are a world class attacking three, and indeed they have scored plenty of goals for us this season but when push comes to shove and it's down to hard work, where are they?

Just look at this weekend - Ozil - Lacca - Auba between them 6 shots, 2 goals now that's not a bad days work ... but what about the rest of their game?

Ozil - Lacca - Auba between them made 1 tackle, had 0 interceptions, and made 0 clearances ...

Compare that to Man City's front three - Sterling - Aguero - Silva between them 8 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 clearances ...

or Liverpool's front three Salah - Firmino - Mane - between them 4 tackles, 1 interception, 3 clearances ...

and when you look at ground covered this weekend we were over 12% down on our season's average, and we only rank 7th all season.

If 'world class' players don't cover back, and the team just doesn't put in the leg work ... then we lose at home to teams who want it more, and frankly that's just not good enough.

AOL are without doubt a great attacking three but that doesn't excuse them for the rest of their game. Emery has been reluctant to play them together as it leaves our 'average' midfield looking short, this game once again showed why he's right.

yes - but we had a real chance here to go 3 pts clear of 5th spot with 4 games to go. It would have given us some breathing room.
Now we have 3 of our last 4 games away form home. One of those is against Leicester and another against Wolves. We'll be big underdogs in both those games and we have to win them both.

Wolves are 2/1 arsenal 6/4
Leicester 7/4 Arsenal 6/4 so no
