Our away form is a serious, serious worry. Losing to BATE and Rennes in the knockout stages of the competition isn't exactly encouraging...
I can't blame Emery for too much today, as the game plan went out the window when Sokratis got sent off. But the in game management of the second half was poor, and we didn't have anyone on that pitch to take responsibility for organising us. There was a distinct lack of leadership. Again though, this is an issue that precedes Emery and has been ongoing for years.
That's been the case for a loong time. Remember 11/12 when we battered Milan 3-0 but it was irrelevant because they crushed us 4-0 at the San Siro.
I think we also went out on away goals to Monaco and Bayern after that.
