He's been better but he still gave the ball away about 4 times today.

You can't be doing that at deep mid ffs, the opposition is then bang in on goal.

Same. I think he was seen as short term to fix some of the hole Sanchez was leaving.

I think we either go big on a WF or depending on Nelson's progression, we give him a chance and upgrade big at LB and CB.

Either way, at a minimum, mkhi is going sooner rather than later.

Both torriera and mustafi saved him a few times today. He's still sloppy, but now he has a safety net.

We need to replace him with someone that doesn't need that so we can be even more efficient.

If Xhaka plays against Brighton and gets a yellow card he's suspended for the liverpool game...

Our only hope :hiding:

Torriera is a smart footballer. So often in the right place to shut off passing lanes and relentless in hunting the ball down. He's probably the biggest difference to our side this year.

Swear we play like the Patriots with a bit of luck on top, give up space and and the ball in the midfield. Give up some chances but in and around our box defend hard and quite well then at the other end come on blazing with attack after attack and win out.

Quite like this 1st half leniency then 2nd half battering teams style

Quite importantly this has been our highest xG in the league this season. Not a surprise that it's come with Ozil at 10 and a balanced 4231. In fact Ozil was directly involved in 2.1 xG form the 2 Auba goals and the Laca chance according to understat.

If we can maintain goal creation at this level we'll be able to challenge regardless of our defence

Iwobi under Emery. So far this partnership has been fruitful

And we were right in complaining, if you look at that first half. By far the best part of that game came once the substitutions kicked in.

That's why the game lasts 90 mins and you have the options of 3 substitutes
It's called managing by need not by rote

Awoke with a warm feeling this morning and rewatched the THAT goal on BBC Breakfast to confirm I wasn't actually dreaming! Sweet stuff!

Having just read the above comments I'd agree that Miki just looks average for us and is not looking long term. Also, I believe that teams like Leicester believed they could get a result against us and came to play football, as did Watford and Everton, so they all left openings to exploit, which we have done in the second halfs. Once we come up against teams who are not prepared to attack, our players will need to adapt to breaking these teams down.......a totally different challenge.
