Pudpop wrote:The bad:
-Bellerin having an absolute shocker against a kid
-Mkhi been terrible and worse doesn't look interested
-Elneny completely in the shadow of the teenager next to him

The meh
-Auba not clinical enough
-Mustafi and Sokratis hard to judge because all their troubles have come from Bellerin giving the LW a free run
-ESR hard to judge since he had to grow into his role

The good
-Kola having a good game, dangerous on attack and got the job done the few times he's needed to in defence
-Ozil looked dangerous whenever he gets the ball. Could be in the men category though because he hasn't been as involved as he might have been with an extra attacker on the pitch

The great
-Cech, self-explanatory
-Matteo is literally the next Messi, Vieira and Beckenbauer in one player

Thought Kola was really poor tbh. He's given the ball away numerous times, with what looks like a simple pass attempted.

Cech has actually been superb. Looks like Leno may have given him a kick up the arse. Amazing what competition for places does !

So far this pre-season. Yes!!!

Mkhy, Elneny, Bellerin all terrible so far.

Mkhy is worst player on the pitch

No in general. He is the only midfielder in our club who can turn with the ball while receiving it. That makes him the best midfielder. Watch every other midfilder we have when they receive the ball. They have to take a step back to control it
By that logic Jack was the best midfielder at the club last season...

...but Jack always finds a way to run into a wall of 5 opponents. He also rarely sprayed the ball like Dozzi

........ 1 - nil to The Arsenal

BTW we are playing 4-1-2-2-1 yet again. Pls don't say we are playing with an attacking mid in centre. Your analysis in tactics thread is clearly wrong.

Jesus christ piss off already, 4-2-3-1 includes an attacking mid. I don't even know where this 4-1-2-2-1 nonsense comes from. FIFA? Some obscure blog? Refer to it as 2-3-3-2-1 next.

on paper we are playing 4-2-3-1....but we are playing playing in wrong position and they are reverting to whats normal for them. I mean look at perdo and the chelsea tean in their positioning compared to mickky and ozil. On paper same formation but we are playing central players out wide

I'm not though. The difference between 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 is quite small, the only one generally agreed on is that with a 4-3-3 you've got a DM at the base of the midfield triangle supporting 2 more offensive mids and with a 4-2-3-1 it's the other way around. the way we've played this pre-season (and Emery for most of his career) is with 2 mids behind a more offensive one (Guendouzi and Elneny here and against PSG, Guendouzi-Ramsey against Atletico). That's the only point I was trying to make back there, and that's still true. You can call the formation whatever you like if you concede that.
