I hope you are joking. We have no one who can do what Arteta does in his role: Wilshere is playing with an injury and i dont think Coquelin is match fit. Vermaelen might work but it would be a huge gamble

defensively Yes I agree but going forward he doesn't create enough for the positions he gets into

As Clichy showed on Saturday, a fullback who can't defend is a liability. I would rather have a fullbac (pun intended) who's poor going forward than a fullback who's poor at defending.

agree

Callum is a distant relative of former Liverpool, England and Real Madrid star Steve McManaman.

I kinda feel bad that Wigan have gone down when the likes of stoke remain, but a win was a must and we did what we needed to. Keep it up for Newcastle as i have a yearning for st totteringhams day again!

I don't see us winning against Wigan. In fact, I can see us losing to Wigan, while Spurs beat Sunderland in the last game and Wigan go on to beat Villa too--with Sunderland being relegated to the Championship.

And, yes, I expect us to smash 'Castle but I think we're missing out on top-4 because of the Wigan defeat. The way things are panning out, it simply seems like we're destined to Europa next season.

alls well that ends well then?

gooney wrote:I cant see us winning, there's way way too much pressure on the team going into this game and Wigan is the last small team I would like to play. They are very bold and will come at us with no fear. They believe they can take on us on footballing terms and the pressure is on our players., I just dont think our players have the mentality to deal with this kind of pressure. They failed last season as well when we were playing Norwich at home and the only reason why we got 4th was Spurs were even bigger failure. With Spurs taking care of Stoke, our chances of top 4 are gone imo

i would try to dignify this with a witty bon mot but why bother
you are a bit of a w***er arent you

Yes Ramsey has improved and been consistent, if he could make his final ball consistent as well that would round it off but well played again and nice goal.

Give a mention to Podolski as well, scored two in one game which is more than you know who usually get's per game, however I do want to see our strikers including Podolski get more involved, the team need to help that as well.

yes well done podolski arsenal player as is and was giroud when he scored 2 v fulham west ham newcastle and brighton

Nobody felty sorry for us back when we were trying to play "pure" football and not winning trophies.

Fact is they didnt perform all season, in most cases when the chips were down they rolled over. Peoples judgement will be clouded by the fact that they managed to pull a performance out the bag against a Citeh side in disarray.

I like Martinez and a few Wigan players are decent but they were pretty awful at stages this season.

And why on earth was Al Habsi dropped for that Joel guy!!! I'd say that selection alone has cost them a lot recently.
