I don't think we'll be able to clone Rosicky in time for Saturday

Team news: Gibbs, Wilshere and Podolski

Arsène Wenger has given the latest team news ahead of Saturday's trip to Swansea City.
on team news...

Sagna and Podolski will not be back. And Wilshere, as we know, is out as well. So the only one who will come back is Monreal because he was not qualified for the Champions League.

on Kieran Gibbs...
I think he will be out on Saturday. He had a little reaction on his thigh. He is not injured but we have to be cautious with it. He might be out.

on the squad's fitness...
Apart from that everyone who played [at Bayern] should be OK. There are bumps and bruises after a game of that intensity but that should be it.

After being able to pick up a ticket from the Arsenal box office on Monday (despite it saying it was sold out) I'll be there on my first Arsenal coach trip. I would like to think that it will be similar to last season where after restoring pride in the CL, we will carry it through in the league and should win here.

Fabianski
Jenkinson - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Monreal
Arteta - Coquelin
Walcott - Cazorla - Chamberlain
Giroud

After such a great defensive display last night I don't think we should be changing things too much, so I'd keep Fabianski and Koscielny ahead of Szczesny and Vermaelen. I'd take Gibbs over Monreal too but it looks as if he's not going to be fit, so Nacho comes in. Arteta made a few mistakes against Bayern but he's still one of our most influential players and our captain in Vermaelen's absence. Oxlade-Chamberlain's been disappointing this season but I'd rather see him start over Gervinho, who seems only able to make an impact from the bench.

I think Swansea are there for the taking. After their League Cup win they've already qualified for Europe and have little to play for this season. If we display the same defensive performance that we did in Munich and really go for it then I can see us winning comfortably.

AOC...........Giroud.......Walcott

................Cazorla.................

........Arteta........Coquelin.......

Monreal...Merts....Kos....Jenkinson

...............Fabianski..................

4-2-1-3.

Swansea are not a park the bus type of team. They come out and express themselves especially at home. Coquelin adds the much needed steel to the midfield as he is the only regular DM we have. Despite those brain farts in the last few minutes Arteta diod a good job on Kroos for most of the game. Apart from Gibbs who is not available the back five should remain the same.

Incidentally, if anyone wants to go, the Arsenal online ticket office is still selling tickets for it.
