Arsenal V Aston Villa
Sat, 23rd, Feb 15:00 Emirates Stadium

Arsène Wenger has supplied the latest team information ahead of the Aston Villa clash:

On Bacary Sagna…
Sagna has a problem with his knee. He will be out for Saturday certainly. I don’t think there are any other knocks really.

On Kieran Gibbs…
He is still out. He will be a few weeks yet.

The Sagna injury has come at an unfortunate time. He's been getting his shit together in the last few weeks. Hopefully, he's back for the Spurs game.
Szczesny
Jenkinson Koscielny Vermaelen Monreal
Arteta Wilshere
Walcott Cazorla Podolski
Giroud

Koscielny had a better game against Bayern than Verms and Merts. I would go with Verms and Kos combination for this one. I don't believe this theory of them being too similar one bit. Merts was poor against Bayern and was found ball watching on more than one occasion.

....................Giroud..................

Podolski..........Cazorla........Walcott

............Rosicky......Wilshere........

Monreal.....Verms......Kos......Jenkinson

...................Mannone...................

Yup. I don't think there is much difference between the two goal keepers and i would rather have somebody with an unscarred mind. Szczesny was poor against Bayern and Blackburn. He has been too up and down this season. Mannone deserves a chance imho.

Before the Blackburn match I would say Szczesny had been pretty solid. I think it will do more harm than good for the lad if we drop him now.

I dont beleve in Rotation i know it is neccessary in todays game but form should pick its self first

trying to play an out of form keeper back into form is suicidal

I don't like making changes to the back 5 (goalie and defenders), the players will develop a greater understanding and work more as a unit if we have a set back 5.

This.

You can make one or or two changes at the back but three, four or five at the same is asking for trouble and miscommunication imo.

At any time, but not when you're planning of playing 4 squad players in front of him, balance is key.

Agreed.

Szczesny had a poor Euros.

Szczesny was poor before he was injured.

Mannone did fairly well barring a couple of dogy performances in Szczesny's absence.

Szczesny did O.K in the mean time but again is back to his old self making costly mistakes against Blackburn and Bayern.

I am not just talking about his howlers rather the times he was caught flapping against Bayern. He has come out needlessly and has caught himself in no mans land on several occasions in recent games [ Eg he came out and Ba nearly puished him]

How does he become undroppable is beyond me..

there is the problem all squad members should be able to come in and do the job, they should all train as a unit rotating in training so they are all on the same page
