Sagna made some great clearances and blocks but he looked very weak in the air, which for someone his size against a Martin O'Neil team is to be expected.

Monreal looked dodgy at the back but decent going forward

Chez saved our bacon. That save from Fletcher after he clearly handled the ball

I thought he was quite good in the air. Probably won more headers than Mertesacker.

Maybe as Sagna has lost some of his athleticism a move to CB would suit him.

Can't play there next game though cause we don't have a back-up RB

Has anything been confirmed about kos yet? The commentators on fox mentioned he felt ill. Having said that, I'm not sure they had a clue what was happening.

As part of a 3 I could get behind that but as one of the two CB's, not for me, he's too short

Monreal had 2 bad moments in the 1st half against Sessegnon, and then improved. He's still better than Gibbs, who for all his talent going forward, has to be one of the worst LB's I've seen when it comes to defensive positioning. You take away his pace and he'd give Santos a challenge for awfulness.

I don't think much of the new website's match report. According to arsenal, the attendance was 0.

Sessegnon moved to the other side.... and tormented Jenks - had his way with most of our defenders to be honest. Sessegnon looked like a real player again today, after going missing much of the season thus far.

Good hard fought win in the end, but should have put it away earlier.

I think Arsene failed on the substitutions to be fair. Jenks on a yellow with Sunderland going at him was a risk. Should have brought on Miquel and moved Sagna to the right at half time. Ramsey had a poor game in general, but did a serviceable job at right back - still a very scary matchup though.

Then he finally brings on Miquel... but takes off Theo. My WTF moment. Ramsey was the player to be swapped for the natural move of Sagna to the right. And it would keep our blazing counter-attacking threat on the pitch. Its a situation that Theo thrives in (vs running at a packed back 8 ). The breaks we had towards the end - Theo would have made a difference IMO.

Chez saved our bacon, so all is mostly forgiven.

BTW, when the substitution was made my GF asked what was wrong. I just screamed "they're not listening to me!" :P
