Our midfield and wing play was much much better today, let down only really by poor finishing, but we got the 3 points.

Cazorla, Wilshere et al should get another midweek rest for the COC as Rosicky, Coquelin Ramsey etc take centre stage

Missed the game. Just watched our goals and brief highlights. Gervinho missed a few sitters didn't he? Podolski missed one too at the end. Cazorla shouldn't have dived imo. How was our passing today? Did we boss the midfield?

We still made some sloppy decisions however the player in question always fought back or another player took responsibilty for them and by sheer force of will got the ball back. That desire and tenacity has been lacking recently.

The main highlight was Jack and Santi (bar the dive) who looked fantastic.

We need our forward players to finish though, our misses have been woeful, it has become a characteristic of ours. If we need to buy Ba or spend big for Michu in January then so be it but ideally Wenger should put the pressure on all of our frontline players and hopefully they will respond.

WBA were extremely poor today and we still couldn't score from open play. That's really worrying. This season we just don't seem to be able to score.

On the positive, Wenger got the tactics and substitutions right! (shocked)

Ramsey not playing was another positive as everybody played in their positions. I hope Wenger realizes what works for us now.

Cazorla dived and it made me feel bad because we're not used to diving. The second was a penalty though and great stuff by Arteta on both occasions.

I'll always take a win but I can't celebrate when we win, not because we played better than the opposition, created lots of chances and were clinical in front of goal but because the ref gifted us a couple of penalties :hiding:

In fairness we were the better side and did create 2-3 very good chances!

Quite how Podolski managed to blast over from 3 feet out I will never understand! That "goal" which should have been coupled with our defensive solidarity alone deserved to win us the match.

Anyway the 3 points are ours. Take 'em and move onwards and upwards!

Gervinho had his normal game. Worked hard, made good runs, beat players. And had absolutely no end product.

That's a tad harsh. He put in some good balls today and kept the ball far better than he normally does.

Wasteful in front of goal. Better passing. Better movement. Better defensive work.
