Walcott must start along with Arshavin.

I know wenger will not employ podolski through the middle i am hoping against hope that he will.

Koscielny should get the nod ahead of Vermaelen imo.

................Podolski...............

Arshavin......Cazorla......Walcott

.........Arteta......Wilshere........

Gibbs....Merts..Koscielny..Sagna

...............Mannone..............

kos is in just as bad, if not worse, form as vermy. kos let jason roberts run at him and beat him all night. vermy had to deal with rvp and rooney, and still conceded less.

You cannot let Kos rot on the bench forever right? There are plenty of games and we need to keep all three of them fit and fresh. Vermaelen looks like he could do with a mini break to rejuvenate himself mentally.

Give Caz a fricking break. He's been useless these last 3 PL matches, and I'm putting my money on it being fatigue. Also, better that way coz it can allow a 4-4-2 ;)

Mannone
Sagna Mert Verm Gibbs
Arteta Coq
Cazorla
Walcott Giroud Arshavin

Ive got a weird feeling Giroud will be brilliant! Arshavin has to start, he creates a lot of chances when he's given games and Podolski has been poor lately.

Wilshere is still recovering from a serious long-term injury so I doubt we'll see him feature. Also I'm very glad to see Gibbs is available, I couldn't stand the sight of Santos again so soon. I'd like to see Koscielny but I don't think he'll start.

We really do need to win this after the pathetic attempt at the Emirates. Lets hope we can shake this poor form.

Wenger's just said he "thinks he will start him (Wilshere)" tomorrow against Schalka. That settles that then.

I've just read that Theo picked up a small illness and is doubtful to play, I guesa we could start Cazorla on the right and give the AM to Wilshere (Coquelin as CM) or Arshavin.

I'd go with:

Mannone
Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Sagna
Arteta Wilshere
Cazorla Arshavin Podolski
Walcott

Subs: Shea, Koscielny, Djourou, Santos, Coquelin, Chamakh, Giroud

*I think the above is a good lineup but it would leave us with a very poor bench
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Don't see why we should drop Giroud.

Cazorla could really use a rest, besides he's one of the last players we want to lose due to a long term injury.
You can still bring him on if things don't go our way, but with this team we really should be able to hurt Schalke.

Mannone
Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Sagna
Arteta Wilshere
Walcott Arshavin Podolski
Giroud

Subs: Shea, Koscielny, Djourou, Cazorla, Coquelin, Chamakh

Maybe because he is shit? Just a thought.

You know what i would do? Honestly? I'd start Chamakh and Giroud up front, Podolski on the left and Cazorla on the right with Arteta and Wilshere in the middle.

If not that, i would start Chamakh up front by himself, his goals against Reading were quality.
