Watching the highlights I've realised a big reason behind our issues when defending: we lose the ball on the half-way line way too much. Lose the ball half-way and your defence barely has any time to reorganise...they need to start telling the players the highest priority until the final third is just the retention of possession, you can start taking risks once in their third.
Go Cannons!!

I still can't believe they managed to win today with no midfield to speak of. And only putting together more than 3 passes maybe twice the entire game. Fantastic result!

Cheeseball finally stepping up bigtime too. Needed that from him.

Winning ugly but with beautiful goals does make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If we can beat Newcastle next week, we have a really good chance of at least 4th. Huge psychological hurdle negotiated today.

Really concerned with our midfield though, it was alarming how much we were squeezed out in the middle of the park today.

Agree to disagree then.
Ill remind you this sentence next time we face Stoke and were all over them but stoke makes a lucky winner in the injury time.

I'll feel exactly the same way, and be pissed that we didn't turn our possession into goals. What's the point in having the ball if you're not going to score?
And there's no such thing as luck... you have to get yourself in a position to earn the "luck"... really it's just playing percentages by gambling on being in a dangerous position.

Gotta say I mildly disagree with this on the topic of luck...having seen United over the years.

Nothing to do with luck, all to do with how much they pay the referees

I went absolutely mental when Van Persie scored the winner, i was buzzing for the rest of the day.

I don't think we deserved to win the match yesterday but there were some very good performances from some of our players. Sagna was immense and his cross for Van Persie's first goal was top class. I thought Gibbs had a great game too, he certainly showed why we should stick with him despite his poor injury record. Robin proved once again why he's the best player in the Premier League, his second goal was fantastic and credit to Song for another brilliant assist. I thought Szczesny was our MOTM though, some of his saves were brilliant and he single-handedly kept us in the game during the first-half.

Mate, they showed it about 15 times during the match. They even had a slow motion super zoomed in clip and you could clearly see there was shin to shin contact as Suarez's calf shook from the impact.

It was far more than toe to toe. Did he make a meal of it? Yes. But there was contact.
