Yes but would you be suprised if Wenger persisted with a 4-2-3-1?

Wenger - I’m tempted to change formation

By Joe Brewin

Arsène Wenger may have no choice but to tweak his system for the visit of AC Milan in the Champions League.

Arsenal must score at least four goals against the Serie A leaders at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday after suffering a 4-0 reverse at the San Siro three weeks ago.

And, with injuries to several midfielders, Wenger says going for broke may well be the order of the night.

“I am tempted,” said the Frenchman. “At the moment, basically I have only two midfielders, [Alex] Song and [Tomas] Rosicky. That means we have to play with four strikers.

“We can play any system you can imagine until tomorrow night. But I will not tell you that now.

“I am tempted [to play Oxlade-Chamberlain down the middle], we will see. I have 24 hours and I have to see if Rosicky is available or not. If he is not available then I will be in a very difficult situation, because I don’t know what I can do then.

“I hope he will make it. He told me yesterday [Sunday] that he will. But the medical staff are not sure.

“I can play six strikers if I want, I have enough. I have Chamakh, Park, Van Persie, Gervinho, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain. I can take a risk, because I have no choice, basically.”

are you serious?

why play a player out of possition? why buy players if you wont play them? Arteta is out Rosicky is out diaby is out,Benyoun is out,if we buy every player to develop and never play them why have the C##ts at all ?

because he's just a kid for gods sake, he was bought as a reserve.

You can't just throw a kid into a CL knockout stage game and see how he does. Lets put it this way, would anyone else do it.

Hell maybe we should but to me it just doesn't seem logical :dontknow:

If he can sit on the toilet seat and his feet touch the ground,he is old enough to play CL ;)

Every man in Arsenal's registered PL and CL squads should be capable of playing at that level as and when required, if they're not then why are we paying their wages and why are they taking up a squad place?

I can't see us keeping a clean sheet tonight.
That means we'll need to score at least 6 to go through.

I just hope we end the night injury free.

Rosicky trained yesterday so i guess he will start. wenger has hinted Ox might start through the middle. Our players have not played a 4-4-2 in eons i am afraid we should we sticking to the system which helped us score a bag-full in the recent games. My line up would be

--------------RVP--------------

Gervinho---------AOC------------Walcott

---------Rosicky--------Song--------

Gibbs----Koscielny---Vermaelen---Sagna

------------Szczesny----------

Our trump card of course would be AOC through the middle.

I wouldn't play Theo from the first half , he would be much more effective around the 60th minute , when defenders are getting tired .

They obviously won't be playing a high line so Theo's usefulness is greatly diminished

How good a passer is Oxe though, I don't understand why Gervinho wouldn't just play down the middle since he is just as well an AM as he is a Winger.

It's crucial that we negate their Diamond. We should go with a 4-3-3, as usual.
