I agree but he picked up a thigh strain in training so he probably won't be back yet.

He needs a goal , not a rest .

Team News: Jenkinson, Gibbs, Diaby

Arsène Wenger revealed the latest team news ahead of the Fulham game:

on the news following the Dortmund match…
There are a few knocks you get from high intensity games but no injuries. It's very good news because we are a bit short in some departments - especially defensively. Every player we lose at the moment could be very detrimental. We just have to monitor their recovery and go into the next game.

on Koscielny being substituted late on…
It was just fatigue.

on the two young full-backs who are out…
Jenkinson is at least three weeks away, Gibbs maybe four. They are progressing as normal.

on Abou Diaby…
It was good to see him back and little quicker than we had thought. He has worked very hard with the medical team and fitness coaches.

Arsène Wenger revealed the following fitness news ahead of the Fulham game:

on Jack Wilshere…
He is progressing like somebody who has just had surgery six weeks ago. Very well, very good. We have to assess him again in two or three weeks. He is working very hard at the moment, he is working in the gym and he works hard.

on a possible return date...
It's too early [to say]. A target could be the beginning of 2012. When I say that, I mean the end of January/February. Something like that.

didnt they said that about vermaelen aswell? lets write him off for the season already....

something tells me RVP may not start this one.. I mean he played a full 90 2 days ago and we all know how AW likes to give him a rest every now and then so as not to risk injury or burn out. It is Fulham afterall and we should beat them with ease even without our captain. His form is incredible but not sure I want to make him my fantasy captain this weekend lol.. anyone else agree he may start on the bench tmrw??

Well Verm's injury was a very rare case, and they struggled to diagnose/treat it.

Wilshere's on the other hand is quite well known, so its easier to put a time frame on it. =]

Pissed this is on ESPN, cant even watch extended highlights on Footie First.

i dont think RvP will get rested for this one, if we winning 3-0 with 15mins to go, we might see Park.

Or be forced to endure the lifelessness that is a typical Chamakh performance.
