Shez
Koscielny Mert TV5 Santos
Song
Arteta
Rosicky RVP Gervinho

Theo and Arshavin to come on as late subs, or Frimpong & Coquelin if we need to hold on to a lead.

Team news: Vermaelen, Jenkinson latest

Arsène Wenger revealed the latest team news ahead of the Chelsea game:

on Thomas Vermaelen...
We had good news about Vermaelen in the game against Bolton the other night. It was just cramp [that forced him to come off] so that's good news. He will certainly be in the squad at Chelsea. I don’t know yet whether he will start, I have to think about that. I feel physically he is not completely ready because he had problems to finish the game against Bolton, but he is close. We play two games in three days and I will have to evaluate the whole situation. But Thomas always wants to play.

on Carl Jenkinson...
I will know more [about Jenkinson's fitness] after training on Friday. Jenkinson was alright yesterday, but I don't know if I will take him or not. It depends how well he does in training today.

I don't want to risk Vermaelen for this game . I just feel the game against Bolton must have taken
a lot out of him . Its better to be safe than sorry .For this game i would go with

Szczesny
Djorou Mertesacker Koscielny Santos
Song Rosicky
Arteta
Arshavin RVP Gervinho

Walcott should be no where near the first eleven .He should be on the bench to take on those
old tired Chelski legs in second half . Djorou's physical attributes will be useful in this game .
Koscielny is in great form , so i guess he should be alright . Mertesacker has been a rock this
season .For the first time i am not too worried about our defensive personnel and it is
saying something especially with TV5 on the the bench .What i am worried about is the hara-kiri
we commit while defending set-pieces . We need to stay focused and organized while defending set-pieces which is easier said than done . Rosicky and Arteta can interchange.
Gervinho, RVP and Arshavin should be our front three .

Dude, did you not see Djourou last time he played at RB?
He should never, ever play there again, ever.

I seriously don't want Vermaelen to start this game . I absolutely do not want to take a chance
with him especially after the midweek game . Now i know Djorou can never be a permanent fixture
at RB , but do we have a choice now other than risking Vermaelen .

Vermaelen is fine, he's only lacking in physical fitness.
The only reason he went off against Bolton was because he had a touch of cramp but he's fine now.
Yes in a perfect world we'd rest him until he can play the full 90 minutes but we need his experience against the Chavs so we should risk it imo.

Besides, even if you leave TV5 out, you still definitely don't want DJ at RB. ANYONE else is better, and I mean anyone.
Nico Yennaris or a partially recovered Jenkinson, or even Coquelin.....anyone!
