It says a lot about him that our other two Left backs are out for the Bayern game yet he's still let go! his Arsenal career is over.

High wages for (very) average players, hardly impossible to offload...

Waiting for their contracts to expire will be the only solution i'm afraid

So now if Vermaelen isn't back from injury in the next week or so, we are going to have Jernade Meade or Iggy Miquel against Robben and Lahm...

A week ago Wenger said he still had a career at Arsenal...

Blatantly obvious he waited to do this outside the transfer window.

if Vermaelen wasn't back we'd still have to play Santos

We'd probably play Jenkinson/Sagna at LB before Meade

Considering he was use against Sunderland i'd think Miquel is closer to be used in Wenger's plans than Meade is. Is Jernade even over his injury yet?

What the f***? I know he's not the best but (as much as I may not like to say it) we might need him especially since Nacho can't play in the CL. Considering our injury issues, is it really wise to lose another defender?

Not too happy about this. We've got even less depth now.

Still a decent LM/LW option in a cup tie or as a 3rd/4th choice...

Either sell him in the transfer window and bring in a DM... but sending him out on loan, idiotic move imo.

we've only got less depth for two games because a player is cup tied and one injured. When those games are over and Gibbs is back theres no use for Santos. Especially with better defensive LB options of TV, Sagna, Miquel and Meade IF Gibbs and Monreal are ever out at the same time. Why keep him on the wage bill (that thing everyone bangs on about) when hes only really option number 7 at left back?
We need a DEFENDER playing LB against Bayern. Something he isnt.

I do find it funny everyone wanted him out, especially when we signed Nacho but now he's gone people are kicking off and coming out to support him. :rofll:
