I'll wait until we hear it from an official source. Santos has been worse than Denilson, in some respects.

Santos signs for Flamengo

Flamengo have confirmed that they have signed Brazil left-back Andre Santos from Arsenal.

The 30-year-old defender, who has won 24 caps for his country, had previously been on loan in his homeland with Gremio.

However, he has now made a permanent switch to Flamengo, where he once had a loan spell in 2005-06.

The Rio club claim to have signed Santos on a free transfer, and have handed him a two-year deal.

Flamengo are managed by Mano Menezes, whom Santos played under during his stint in charge of the Brazil national team.

Him leaving will be like a new signing.

Worst left back in the club's history.

We paid 6.2 million and release him on free, then we complain about how we cant compete for the big players and how we do things the right way. This guy was another waste of money transfer.

I have worked it out. He is the 3rd worst Arsenal player since i started supporting in the eighties.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

What I don't understand is why Wenger seems to be so precise about who he will buy and will cancel deals for top players for the sake of a few million if they are not quite right yet will go and blow 6.2million on an absolute numpty like this. If Wenger thought this guy along with park was "super duper quality" then we are in a lot of trouble. We wasted over 6 million on santos, 3 on park, 4 on the squid (much cheaper to buy an actual squid who would be better at football), over 10 on Gervinho, 15 on Arshavin for 2 decent season, even if you don't count Arshavin we have still wasted over 23 million in the last few seasons on players that have contributed nothing towards improving the club. If times have been tight until recently Wenger and the board have wasted a lot of money.

Poor gay. Clearly a lovely fella, obviously not good enough. Him and Vivas are definitely contending for the worst fullbacks we've had.

Its false economy. They will say our transfer record is 15 million and wage sealing is 100k. So as long as they brand those 2 figures, it will look like they are economically very responsible. But its clear that this club cant evaluate players value and market value. When you pay Djourou, Bendtner and Squillaci 50k a week and you cant get rid of them because no one is gonna pay them that kind of wage. You need to look at how you do business
