it would force the opposition to sit back more, all good in my opinion as long as the defense was very structured to stay back.

The only problem would be is I'm sure they haven't practiced much like that if at all, and communication and discipline would be a problem, which it already is with 4 at the back.

Wait! I said this weeks ago! :P

My formation was a 3-4-3 though. With said injuries.....

Kos-Mert-Verm
Ramsey-Song-Arteta-Rosicky/Benyoun
Theo-RVP-Gerv

that would work as well..

everyone is all over the place so i guess it don't matter to much 3-4-3/ 3-5-2 but i would go with 3 at the back instead of throwing in some young kid that will just get taken to town..

Would love a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2... but managers are too predictable these days and we'll never see it.

I wouldn't want to change to CB pairing, we want them to develop, so it's Miguel at LB for me.

Forget the formation we have played with four CB's this season at the back...

Arsenal Football Club can confirm that, following investigations and subsequent medical opinions by Club specialists, left-back Andre Santos will have surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle sustained in the game against Olympiacos last week.

Andre will have surgery in Brazil this week and is expected to be out for around three months. Everyone at the Club wishes him well.

Santos is expected to be out for 3 months which is a joke. Must be in for another defender/ LB now.

Why does our prognosis of a few weeks turns out in to months almost all the time ..

I work in health care and after a scan you can pretty much predict at-least the minimum time required
depending upon the type of ligaments involved , the extent of the tear and damage to surrounding
structures/bone itself . I can understand a players prognosis being extended by a few weeks cos
every individual has different levels of recovery of healing but jumping from 3 weeks to 12 weeks
without aggravation of the original injury is downright absurd..

I have also noticed that we waste valuable time deciding whether to go for conservative/surgical
management . I mean we saw what happened with RVP , where we wasted a few months before
going through the surgical route. I just feel the best way to go about is to go for the complete
correction of injuries than trying to put pressure on the medical staff to try out conservative options first .
Vermaelen had an Achilles problem and here also there was indecision as to conservative/surgical route
and then correcting the other foot as an after thought. There are clear protocols out there for ligament
tear based on whether the tear is partial/complete , the type of ligament , surrounding tissue
damage the type of patient like whether the injured person is an athlete/ normal person , as i have already
mentioned..
