I litreally havn't seen anything of this guy but I dont understand why Wenger wont use him, instead persisting with Chamakh. I mean lets be honest, Chamakh hasn't given us anything in the past 6 months yet he continues to get game.

What worries me is this whole national service this in 18 months!

I have no problem with AW holding him back. Strikers coming straight from the french league seem to require time to adjust. Coming into the EPL isn't something any player can adapt to straight away.
As I said his time will come.

I understand that bit totally, but why throw Gervinho and Santos in the deep end but hold Chu back so much? Its just pretty strange!

But unless we play him we ain't gonna raise our profile much in South Korea are we? Aside from initial shirt sales they'll probably drop off if they don't see him getting game time.
And we haven't played in South Korea in recent times, i don't think?

Doesn't matter if we play there or not, Park is like Royalty there, Park playing for Arsenal = Potential fans = Potential revenue.

His cousin Park has generated a silly amount for Man Utd and he doesn't exactly average a lot of games a season...

Thing about Chu though is he is actually a very good striker with a bloody good engine, who just so happens to be in some good goalscoring form.

At the very least, i would have expected a sub appearence in the league, then again, maybe AW so scared of changing things and us doing even worse, that he doesn't want to give him a run out...

Time for AW to grow a pair me thinks.

We need to see what he can do in the first team, I don't want him to be classified a background player without being given a proper chance.

And we lost.

You can pull out as many statistics as you want but Chamakh for most part has been a poor buy, and thats taking into account the fact he was free.

God help what people would be like if we actually paid real money for him.

Chamakh is a full fledged international scoring 1 in every 3.35 games (17 in 57 appearances, 11 in 36 since 2005) and had 301 appearances and 76 goals (143 and 40 in his last 3 seasons) in Liege 1 before joining Arsenal.

Chu Young has 21 in 55 appearances (1 every 2.62 games) at international level (since 2005) and 103 appearances and 26 goals in his only 3 seasons in Liege 1.

Quite similar on paper... maybe Wenger doesn't want Park to flop as hard as Chamaaaaaaaaaaakh did!

I heard when we had sun Jihai we were forced to play him 75%+ of games due to TV money we got from China. Explains a lot  He got injured for ages though and then Sven got rid when he came.
