Pretty sure it was Bramble. He took Nasri out right outside the area. Caught him from the side and took out both his legs, we got a free but there was no yellow. Even the commentators were mystified considering some of the petty things Dowd was handing out bookings for.

I usually think Phil Dowd is a good ref, but this was not one of his better games.

Hmm something just occurred to me. With the whole thing about Wenger and tackles, and a certain fat c*** saying les boss was just trying to work the refs, is it possible that Dowd had that in the back of his mind?

And i agree the Sunderland players got away with murder but Song deserved to go off, he had a shocker, it was like watching the Song of Fulham all those years ago.


Yeah I don't disagree that he did enough to earn himself a red, but I also think they were yellows that wouldn't have been, in most other matches.

He certainly should have been more careful after the first. And I'm assuming that one was for dissent since he didn't even touch the man for his first yellow.
