You have to consider the oposition, and the fact they had only 10 men, and the fact that they pretty much gave up after the red. At least I take it into consideration.

I rate the players on their performances regardless of the opposition.

I think their heads dropped for a short spell, but they were still up for it, and still tried to score. Credit to them.

I said 5-0 in the prediction thread, but in all honesty I felt we would put 3 or 4 past them, and probably conceed one. But either way it was garunteed to be a free-flowing game, luckily the red card didn't change that.

Great game that along with the return of some injured players, will hopefully bread confidence amongst our players, we can really kick on. We have four points and already have played an away head-to-head fixture. Reasons to be cheerful!

Would have liked to have seen Wilshere in a more advanced position, Arshavin giving a bit more, and Chamakh be a bit more clinical... other than that, no complaints.

I've never been one to rate players 8/9 or 10 very often. Quite frankly, you will probably never see me give anybody a 9 or 10.

I'm assuming you're asking why mine were so low...

And in my honest opinion, while most of the guys played well it wasn't exactly a sensational performance from many. There wasn't a high level of skill or work required to create most of the scoring chances we had today.

And as for Wilshire getting a 5 from me... I think he was more or less useless today. Not involved in the build up of just about anything all day. Gave the ball away far to often and horribly scuffed the one chance he was able to create for himself.
This space used to be more fun...

Oh I get it... it's a chat thread for the ratings!!! Maybe the thread title should be changed.

Anyway...

Leody, I think I only gave Wilshere a 6. He did his bit but wasn't great. I don't think he should be played as a CM, he plays best when he's pushed up behind the strikers, like Cesc. But it didn't take Cesc too lnog to adapt, so hopefully we can expect the same from Jack.
