Hope this helps, nearly all have vacancies according to this site - 156 in all

https://www.carehome.co.uk/care_search_results.cfm/searchcounty/Kent/searchchtype/palliative-care

I should clarify that I am not managing her situation myself and that if I was the situation would not be as it is. Im not happy with whats going on at all and im unable to intervene. Im nit convinced all avenues have been explored.

My other grandmother had dementia and her care cost £1,200 a week. Of course at the time you just pay it. There is no serious alternative

This country is a f***ing disgrace at dealing with care for the elderly

No argument there, the ridiculous focus on giving everyone under 25 a free ride whilst everyone overt 50 is suffering? The whole focus is wrong, take care of those who've already put in a shift, the young will get their opportunities ... we all managed without 90% of what they get today and our olds were nowhere near as neglected.

Hope you gran receives the dignity all her age group have earned.

I've stayed away from Brexit these past few weeks, can't vote anyway and as I stated, I'm glad I can't.

I hope whichever direction the British people vote is the right outcome, but I have a feeling I'll be voting next time to try to stop or undo along with a majority at undoing or protecting any mess from the fall out.

The parties have said this, claimed that, lied through their teeth to get at each other, whoever wins will have the burden of doing what's best and in particular sorting out the great NHS which I used this morning and that saved a friend of mine who had 2 minor heart attacks at age 39 just the other week.

How did you find it? See any kids laying in corridors?

No, it was a really good experience, much better with this new management.

Best experience I've had there in years, called up and they had an appointment for me in 20mins.

On the NHS, you can only speak as you find and my extended family has had the best possible treatment over the past few years:

My Mum who has macular degeneration (eye problems) has now had 35 sets of injections that cost £1k each apparently.
My Father in-law has had heart issues and had a defibrillator fitted in his chest, also had bowel surgery and other stuff.
I've had a few issues with (non invasive) skin cancer that have been sorted very quickly.

I could go on, but to say the NHS is failing/in meltdown is totally ludicrous.

My grandmother is currently dying with weeks to live, in horrendous pain. There are no spaces available in any hospice in the whole of Kent so no palliative care for her.

My colleague at work has bad psoriasis and has been waiting over a year for specialist light therapy to start.

A doctors surgery near my mums place has only two GPs left working in it. Used to have four

Yes id say crisis is the right word

The GP's I went to has been taken over by new management and were great however just a year ago that same GP's under the previous regime was horrendous, they wouldn't even answer the phones, could never get an appointment or anything.

I think like most things in life its the management of that particular branch which has a big effect as does of course the correct funding.

There's a video going around Facebook where they are asking Brits how much they think Americans pay for medical care like being picked up by an ambulance, Epipen, inhaler etc and its shocking tbh, which is why the NHS is in my top 2 of things I'd vote on.

Anyway I hope the situation involving your Nan improves.

Got home from work at about 7:30 and went around to vote. My God! The queue was coming out the door! Never seen it like that before. Ever.

The presiding officer said she's been doing it for 20 years and it's the highest turnout she's seen.

What is your guesstimation of the age demographic?

All sorts.

Most I'd guess were 30-50, but there were also people older and younger.

Exit poll coming up in a few mins.

There was a couple at my polling station and a steady stream of people coming in and out but difficult to compare as I usually vote by post.

Surely Corbyn and all of those idiots like Diane Abbot have to be consigned to the Labour back benches now.

There are some good Labour politicians who should be leading their Party and in the opposition cabinet, but the Party has been taken over by left wing radicals.

Bye Corbyn you useless c***

Get someone like Keir Starmer in and put the tory scum back in their box. They do not have the answers this country needs.

All those who voted for this capitalist extremist, you'd better be ready to own everything he and his mates do.

There goes any chance of an exciting night. Guess I can go to bed at my normal time.

Positive: This has to be the end of Corbyn and momentum. If it was close I reckon he would try again but now he has to go. They really did vote for the wrong Milliband a few years ago, how different things may have been.

Negative: I have no hope for the future at all. I cannot see how anyones lives are going to get better under a Johnson government with the plans they have.

Watch them gerrymander the constituency lines now so that even when labour do manage to get a decent leader they have no chance anyway.

All things aside if the SNP really do get 55 seats then they deserve indyref 2 after we have left the EU.
