If the state capitol monument which is on Govt owned land allows Christian crosses to be erected, then according to our constitution it has to allow any other type of religious figure to be put on that land as well. The Satanist are only exercising their constitutional right.

My only issue with that statue is that it looks so edgy is cringe worthy

Unfortunate for Satanists that their brand has largely been ruined by edgy teenagers

True!

Satanist get a bad wrap cause of obvious reasons. Too many people think they are like devil worshippers and bad people. When in reality that statue represents more good, empathy, and love than the Christian Cross does. Plus in the bible, Lucipher actually wanted equality, he was the first one (even those it's all fake) to ask for equality according to the bible, but the oh so loving god that we're supposed to believe in didn't want equality, and then we all know how the rest of the myth goes.

I'm getting increasingly tired of being civil about religion

People need to get a f***ing grip and get with reality. I'm really sick of the world being held back by magic man in the sky muppetry

Me too. Tired of the world thinking we have to respect these antiquated beliefs.

Religion should be a private and personal choice, and should be practiced in private and personal places.

People shouldn’t be allowed to foist it upon their children, or expect anyone else to make any allowances for their beliefs. It should be kept out of the law, education, government provided healthcare, and the workplace.

I'd go further and say end all religious-affiliated schools and all public funding for religious institutions

Invest the money saved into scientific, medical and astranomic research and let's fuckin make some progress

Or use it to help unfortunate people.

Do they tax churches in the UK?

They don't here in the US, and they really need to start doing so.

I really don't know. They're exempt from business rates. (Ie tax on commercial premises)

Re the situation in the US, look up "John Oliver - church of perpetual exemption."

The Church of England is one of the biggest land owners in the UK. The Catholic Church is one of the richest organisations in the world!

And they have the gall to pass a plate round on a Sunday for old ladies to put some of their pension in.

The Church and the Royals, including the Dutchies, own fuckin half the country. But there's no money to build new social housing and no land to put them on apparently
