We see too many times nowadays when bastards (and i'm using that in the legal sense) are born and one parent leaves the other alone which causes stress for both. Marriage provides security and a chance for children to have the best start in life when their mother and father are married.

I'd of still left my ex even if I'd been married. I never wanted to marry my ex. Not sure how me and her staying together would give my daughter the chance of a best start in life. I'd argue it's better for her now.

Never going to get married.

I'll put a ring on my girls finger if we're together long enough, hell I'll even buy her a diamond ring but I'm never going down the isle unless I have kids.

Men get way to screwed over legally from a marriage and your just thrown on the heap and leached financially for the rest of your days while she's with some other fker.

Not me son, I ain't going out like that, if you have kids together though that makes things different.

For most people getting married is a commitment to being together to bring up kids.

I don't understand why a few of you think men get screwed when the marriage ends.

It's only the same as if your living with a women and not married. You both get half when you split. For example if you have an house together.

You can do both successfully without getting married...

Depends on your culture and circumstances really.

Marriage is a personal choice, if you don't see the point of it, don't do it.

If a man has finances / property before the marriage its the man that has to give half of everything he had before he got into the relationship.

I'm not talking about when a couple builds their investments together I mean when a woman marries a man after he has what he does.

It all depends on the situation its true, but I've seen it many times, guy's losing their houses etc.

Don't think my generation has the patience for it. Not appealing in any case. There really aren't many incentives if you're a man.

I'd get married in a heartbeat.

Any single female from the UK/US/Canada want a husband, give me a call.

Marriage is important, two people living together without marriage are immoral and I would never talk to them

Well, that's an extremely judgemental approach. Discriminating, in fact. I'm sure it's not linked to a certain ancient anthology with more than its fair share of anachronistic hogwash.
