Harris is mixed.

But, explain Herman Cain. Or Ben Carson. Or Kanye. Why did their campaigns go nowhere if America loves tokenism? Couldn't possibly be because those three are jokes and Harris is actually a pretty good candidate

The right side of politics is less concerned with tokenism than the left side of politics, imo.
Virtue signalling seems to be quite correlated with left-wing ideology.
I think that would explain Cain and Carson - they just were not the best candidates, therefore they didn't make it.
Kanye is not liked by the left, because he doesn't froth at the mouth with hatred when Trump's name is mentioned. So that explains that.

The right wing is just too racist to ever nominate a black candidate/vp. Imagine trying to praise the gop for having no diversity in their party. Like praising the Nazis for not having a token j*w (why is this word censored?) in their administration. f***ing bellend.

Because all those white men who became VP totally did so on merit. As if Pence wasn't picked specifically to pander to evangelicals. Harris is an incredibly smart and educated woman with plenty of experience. To imply that she somehow took the place of some poor undervalued white man just based on her sex and ethnicity is ridiculous and disgusting.

Certainly wasn't on grounds to shamelessly pander to women and ethnic minorities as Biden seems to have done. I'm not saying she's taken a place, I'm just saying it was pretty clear Biden wanted a woman as he said so earlier, which makes it clear he was going to make the decision based not on merit but on chromosomes (and if they happen to have the right skin pigmentation, that's a bonus for ol' Joe because he can play on the Obama card a little more!)

There's hundreds of years of history of picking men based on their chromosomes.

I don't give a shit about the right wing either - they are just as pathetic as the left wing.
The only people who ever talk any sense in politics are those that are in the middle and refuse to blindly follow the ideologies of extremists.
Politics, unfortunately, is littered with fools who cling to ideologies - and those that get upset when their particular ideology is questioned.

This isn't really true.
Up until fairly recent history, women didn't get treated equally in society in general , so the idea that VP's or Presidents were picked based on gender is not really the case. There was just no opportunity for women.

What is the case now is that the Democrat party have filtered their VP nomination based on gender and race explicitly. That is discriminatory. You don't fix years of discrimintaion with discrimination.

This is an example of what I mean about left wing politics - cry racism and sexism against others and then cheer and pat themselves on the back when they are guilty of the exact same thing.

The best candidate should be chosen and 'diversity' should not be a consideration.

Who's to say Harris isn't the best candidate for VP?

We'll never know because racial and gender profiling was used upfront to select the shortlist. i.e. discrimination.

My point there is no "best candidate" because it's all subjective and down to the Presidential nominee and their team's discretion.

Sure, but by the same token if an employer excludes all black people from applying from a job opening, it's still discrimination - even if it can't be fully determined whether or not they ended up with the best candidate.

The point is they started the process by filtering based on race and gender. That kind of racism and sexism can not be excused.

It actually doesn't matter who or what the VP is, even Biden ......... because your effectively voting for the DNC, not the faces they put forward to carrale votes.

The election system is a sham.

You do get some guys slip by like Trump, guys who the party would prefer not to win, Bernie Sanders for example.

But you saw exactly how the DNC inserted their own candidates and tried to publically trash their opposition like Sanders, Gabbard etc.

They even had that tw*t millionaire ushered in late in the game just to try to take Bernie down.

The DNC are a joke.

The whole idea of "the best candidate" is laughable ... there are almost certainly millions of people better qualified to govern a country than Trump, Biden, Pence or Harris ... people with legitimate backgrounds in politics, economics, finance and a dozen other skills a good leader should possess ... but firstly they don't apply for the jobs and secondly they won't have spent years playing in 'the swamp' so as to be nominated by their chums.

When Trump v Biden is the best you can come up with the system isn't just broken it's been smashed into little pieces and then ground into dust ... god help us all
