I think Bernie vs Trump should of been what happened last time.

Sounds to me like you watched one too many YouTube videos.

................... why, do you think I've imagined the protests and marches of thousands of people spouting Far Left identity politics? the media interviews etc.

Youtube is just videos taken of actual happenings, your making out that if its on Youtube its fake or something, a Youtube of a CNN interview is no less legit that watching it straight from CNN.

Silly comment tbh.

I'm saying the screeching blue-haired SJW's are for some reason always get promoted by the YouTube algorithm even though they're really nothing but a small but vocal minority.

Click on one "SJW DESTROYED by Logic and Facts" type of video and your YouTube feed is ruined. You will get nothing but these types of videos recommended and you will have a skewed perception of the world where you see these people as a much larger problem than they really are. Keep in mind, the US has a population of 325 million people. A protest with "thousands of people" would still only constitute about 0,002% of the entire population.

These algorithms aren't created to educate you or give you a realistic view of society, they are built to exploit human psychology to increase watch time. If you get your politics from anti-SJW YouTube you have a skewed perception of reality.

Also Bernie very much involves himself in identity politics. As does everyone else, because there's really no reasonable alternative to it. In fact, when you call out the "Far left" you're generalizing and giving them certain traits which very likely not every single individual of that group has. You're playing identity politics.

Everyone here is afraid of his "socialist" tag. Even though it isn't the traditional socialist govt that he wants so much, but nobody really bothers to read that part. They just see the word socialist and end all critically thinking at that point and then go back into their ignorant American stupor!! :dizzy:

To be frank America could use a decent dose of socialism.

America is too capitalist, too much do it on your own or get left in the gutter, there's no humanity in your social services, no safety net.

I mean I'm not for the state being up in everything but if it cost American citizens $5 a month extra tax to have universal healthcare and not have to worry about your Insurance not paying out because you didn't tell them you had a cold in 1984, or worrying about the cost of claiming on your Health Insurance, operations it doesn't cover or simply the expense of it ................ is all that stress and worry not worth $5?

To know they have to treat you, no matter what's wrong with you at no cost.

Too many of us Americans have an extra chromosome tbh (mainly talking about the Fox News-watching mouth-breathers). It's like they're incapable of gathering information on their own because if they would, then they'd understand that no matter how many times Fox News—and other right-wing media—sounds the alarm, America's chances of becoming a socialist country are slim to none. We've been a country with a mixed economy since 1776, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

What they're afraid of is America becoming more of a welfare state/social democracy society, and because of right-wing propaganda, the term 'welfare' has become demonized as something meant only for lazy and/or entitled people, as well as social democracy being bastardized as socialism. Yet a lot of those people have little to no problem with public education, social security, Medicare and Medicaid, workers' comp, and food stamps.

The Republican PR machine is so good that it's actually convinced people to vote against their interests. If the Democrats learn how to improve their messaging (shout-out to AOC for being a millennial who knows how to navigate social media), then they'll win every election by a landslide because their policies (other than gun control but that goes back to the whole messaging thing) are hugely popular.

The whole welfare state thing reminds me so much of that Life of Brian bit lol:

I agree and it eems so simple and logical, although I'm sure it wouldn't work that easily. I don't pretend to know how to go about changing our health care system for the better, but it's a shame that the self proclaimed most powerful country in the world has such a shitty system.

That's what they've convinced the people to be scared of ........ but the Gov't and their business friends aren't scared of that because its simple tax then provide service, just like the post, or the police, of the Fire brigade, no different at all, public services, publicly funded through tax.

The issue for them is the extortion and basically cutting out an industry of over priced Insurance, medicine and over paid Doctor's.

Its the same reason they won't make gun ownership illegal, its because its a business and the NRA support that business.

The problem with America is it never went through the revolution of Europe where we had a society based on a relationship between a king and the people, freedom and self dependence is actually new for us and didn't really start flowering until the 15th / 16th century, before that everything was provided for or the land was owned by the king.

We had to fight for our civil liberties of ownership and enterprise.

In America it was founded and colonised by private company's like the Massachusetts colonies who were privately owned by trading and investment companies back in Britain.
The central state did not exist and everything was privately owned from the off.

Obama was a pr*ck.

I'll never forgive him for that Flint Water stunt.

He was an absolute shill who the Democrats used the colour of his skin to win an election.

I wouldn't of minded if he was a decent President, doesn't matter how you get there it matters what you do when your there but the guy was a complete empty marketing tool and did nothing for America.

I've not been so disgusted with an American President (regarding the Flint water press conference) than when Nixon was recorded on the phone saying how he loves the idea of Private Health care because it basically rips people off......... that and the Bushes anyway.
.................. or the President who gave away your monetary system to the FED.

I guess with Obama it just seems even more insidious because of what he was mean't to represent, yet he was rolled out into a poor black neighborhood to say "Don't worry people, the waters fine" ......... that water was killing and poisoning children ffs!!
Putin may as well of turned up at Chernobyl and said "Yes this soil is great for growing crops and raising a family here, radioactivity is a myth anyway".
