Nice to see Belichick has some morals.
Would've also lost him the locker room.
Which is probably why he rejected it.
All these little victories are hollow, people just don't want the bad press or the hassle.
Take Dana White for e.g, because he's the boss at UFC, he can't be cancelled, too many fighters and sports networks make money with him so the pressure is off, the agenda for badgering him doesn't get pushed, it gets held down or swept under the carpet.
Wrong.
Endeavor owns the UFC and Disney own the broadcasting rights which goes through ESPN.
Dana can absolutely be canceled and has bosses he has to asnwer to.
Disney are the ones who shut down UFC 249 in April even though Dana was desperate for it to happen.
Dana is the President of the UFC, not the owner. If they want him removed he'll be gone tomorrow.
A better example would've been Vince McMahon and WWE, he is the chairman and CEO.
Dana has never been that, the UFC belonged to the Fertitta brothers before they sold it.
You actually explaining that like I don't know the details?
I'm not wrong, he's the fkin President of the UFC, how is he not the boss?
I never said he owned it, I said he was the boss and he is, he runs the UFC same way he did with the Ferttitas.
I've been watching the UFC since 1995 since UFC 1.
Dana is rich enough that he can quit whenever he wants, he's his own boss because he runs the show, yes UFC has "owners" it always did even under the Fertittas, but his role has always been to manage the entire show from top to bottom and he's never been reigned in.
If he was subservient to anyone it was the Ferttias, Dana used to kiss their ass because that was years ago when he wasn't as rich as he is now, but similar to Kevin Feige at Disney, he runs the show regarding Marvel, he's the cog, you take him out it all goes tits up.
Dana is the same, he's at a point now where he runs the UFC from top to bottom that if the new UFC owners tried to gag him, he would likely tell them to fk off, he's already rich.
He's only hanging on because the UFC is his baby.
When the new company bought UFC off the Fertittas, Dana came as part of the package because of how intergral he is.
They could fire him sure ............. but then they better find someone else to run the entire company from top to bottom, fighter contracts, setting up shows, organising the cards, Pressers, Dana does absolutely everything (with his assisstants obviously).
Dana is not in a position to be fearful of someone reigning him in the mans worth north of $500m ffs and has all the leverage of being the face of the UFC ............. hence why he DOES and HAS said whatever the fk he wants and gets away with it.
