Wow, Republicans severely underperforming in the midterms — It's usually a bloodbath for the party that's holding the presidency, but right now it looks like Democrats will hold the Senate and maybe even gain a seat. House still looks like it will flip but it should have never even been in play.
Trump already getting blamed on FoxNews for taking the spotlight away from (R) candidates right before the midterms, and rightfully so. What was he thinking, teasing a huge announcement right before the midterms? This is the second time he's cost Republicans their seats.
On the other hand, the biggest R winner is DeSantis, who won in a landslide in Florida and turned it solidly red. While Trump is still stuck crying about the 2020 election, DeSantis has moved on to new Republican talking points like talking about woke ideology and trans kids in schools and other nonsense.
If he has any aspirations for the presidency, he will have to run in 2024, so what happens if he actually beats Trump in the primary? Can anyone imagine Trump conceding and then campaigning for DeSantis? There's absolutely no chance.
