maybe you should look at what fox hunting is and it purpose. It's no different to badger culling

they dont toy with foxes they chase them (something you usually have to do when trying to catch something)

They chase them on purpose. You can't equate it to culling.

how else are you meant to hunt animals and kill them without chasing them?

Is it any less evil to shoot them from 100 yards away with a chance of maiming or killing them slowly? Foxes arent badgers they're smarter they just wont be out and about when humans are around especially in the country side. City foxes are a different case they dont worry about humans because they know they wont do anything

at least when a pack of 40 hounds kill them they die quickly

Stop playing dumb. You know they chase them for shits and giggles. If the sole purpose was culling them, there would be very little chasing involved.

Can we introduce "Incompetent manager hunting" instead

well then that's up to you. It doesnt really effect you so obviously you wouldnt be expected to know the necessity of culling foxes that can indiscriminately take out all of a farmers chickens.

I bet if you're livelihood depended on it you would see things differently.

no difference between fox hunting and exterminating cockroaches imo

Nothing a fence won't fix.
FYI, my father in law's a farmer. I've worked on the farm and lived there for extended periods of time. I know exactly what it's like.

Show me someone who claims they hunt foxes for pest control reasons, and I will show you a liar.
