Homeowners allowed to stab intruder. Good or bad?

This is right in my opinion, if someone thinks they can come into my house and take what's mine then I'd kill them without question, forget about that being too much force or whatever they didn't have to come in my house.

No, but you'd have to cover up alot of stories and evidence to get away with something like that. I guess it's possible but not very likely.

It's a good policy, providing sensible guidelines are put in place to stop abuse of the system, such as the scenario Yorky suggested. I've read numerous cases of people being charged with assaulting a burglar, which shows the system needed to be changed.

Reminds me of this case a while ago in the USA when a dad shot (or stabbed) his own son at night, thinking it was an intruder.

Depends on the situation really, use the knife to defend, not attack.

Apparently, he was breaking into the house next door though so he wasn't innocent. Still a tragedy as it must of been hard for the father to deal with.

I hear he had a ski mask on etc and went at his father with a knife.
